The main nightlife areas in Pattaya are Walking Street and Soi Buakhao. Walking Street has one of the city's largest concentrations of go-go bars, nightclubs and late-night entertainment. Soi Buakhao is another major nightlife area, with popular venues on the road itself and in nearby areas including LK Metro, Tree Town, Soi Honey, Soi Pothole and Soi Diana. Other major nightlife streets include Soi 6, Soi 7 and Soi 8, which branch off Beach Road, the main seafront road running towards Walking Street. Jomtien has bars and nightlife too, but is generally quieter and more laid-back than central Pattaya.
A beer in a typical Pattaya bar usually costs around 80 to 100 baht. During happy hour, particularly earlier in the day or in cheaper areas such as parts of Soi Buakhao and East Pattaya, prices can fall to around 40 to 60 baht. Go-go bars, premium venues and popular nightlife locations may charge more, while drinks and table service in nightclubs can be considerably more expensive.
Many Pattaya beer bars open around midday, with some opening earlier and others beginning around 1pm or 2pm. Daytime is usually quieter and can be a good time to sit down for a drink, people-watch and take advantage of happy-hour prices. Beer bars generally become much busier during the evening. Go-go bars and nightclubs normally open later and focus primarily on evening and late-night entertainment.
Pattaya's nightlife generally starts getting busy from around 8pm to 10pm. Beer bars are often lively by the evening, while nightclubs tend to become busiest from around 11pm or midnight and can remain busy into the early hours of the morning.
